Who are we?

We are a group of Hongkongers from all walks of life, living in Hong Kong and across the world. We all share a common value: We believe that the right to liberty and freedom of expression are universal human rights. Our core values coupled with our love to our city united us in this fight for freedom.

In order to tell our story to the world and invite the global community to join our fight in defending our freedoms and autonomy, we started crowdfunding campaigns to launch various advertisement campaigns, starting from the 2019 G20 Osaka Summit in June 2019.

Stand with Hong Kong at G20

The 2019 G20 Osaka Summit was held on 28 and 29 June 2019, where world leaders from 19 countries and the European Union gathered. It was a key opportunity for the world to bring our demands to the table. We raised over USD$1.5 million within two hours through crowdfunding from over 20,000 donors to support this campaign, and our open letter was published on 18 newspapers across 13 countries.

Worldwide advertising campaign to fight against 8.11 war crimes

Freedom HONG KONG x StandWithHK joined hands to launch an advertising campaign, which aimed at unveiling the wide-ranging abuse of power, indiscriminate arrests and even potential contravention of the ban against torture under international law. The campaign called for international attention on the situation in Hong Kong, a civilised and developed society, and the continued support for resistance efforts by Hongkongers. Our advertorials were published on 18 newspapers across 13 countries. The Freedom HONG KONG team was responsible for coordinating the advertorial publishing. All subsequent event coordinations, account clearing and further advertorial publishing were managed by:
